Ingredients

  • 1 c. miniature marshmallows
  • 2 c. thawed strawberries
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jell-O
  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening (or margarine)
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs

Method

  • Grease large pan (15 x 10 x 1-inch) well; sprinkle all marshmallows in pan.
  • Prepare strawberries by combining with the strawberry Jell-O; let stand.
  • Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well.
  • Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk.
  • Add vanilla; blend well.
  • Pour batter over marshmallows. Spoon strawberry mixture over the batter.
  • Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.
