Ingredients

  • 3 c. cut up rhubarb
  • 1 pt. strawberries
  • 1 1/2 to 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/3 c. vegetable oil
  • 2/3 c. milk

Method

  • Mix berries, rhubarb, sugar and water in a square pan; cook for 5 minutes. Measure flour. Mix flour, baking powder, salt and 2 tablespoons sugar. Stir in oil and milk only until ingredients are moistened. Drop by spoonful on hot fruit; makes 9 `biscuits.' Make hole in top of each, putting a `dab' butter, sugar and cinnamon in each.
