Ingredients

  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. butter or oleo
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pkg. chocolate mint wafers (9 oz.)
  • walnut meats

Method

  • Cream butter and sugars.
  • Blend in eggs, water and vanilla. Beat well.
  • Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  • Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  • Enclose a mint wafer in about 1 tablespoon of chilled dough.
  • Place on baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  • Top each with a walnut half.
  • Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
