Ingredients

  • 3 lb. headless shrimp, cleaned (in shell)
  • 1 stick melted butter
  • 1/4 c. olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 3/4 tsp. basil
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 3/4 tsp. chopped garlic
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. powdered Chinese pepper
  • 1 fifth cheap red wine

Method

  • Put all of the ingredients into a large black pot with cover. Bring to a boil over a hot heat.
  • Cover and turn off heat.
  • Test the shrimp every five minutes to see if they are cooked.
  • Serve in bowl with lots of French bread to sop up liquid.
  • Serves 6.
