Ingredients

  • 3 c. squash, cooked and mashed
  • 1/2 stick butter/margarine
  • chopped onion
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (do not add any water)
  • 1 can cream of celery soup (do not add any water)

Method

  • Cook squash in salted water.
  • While hot, add butter or margarine and let melt.
  • Add chopped onion to squash and butter mixture.
  • When cool, add the following ingredients and mix thoroughly:
  • sour cream, chicken soup and celery soup.
  • Line bottom of oblong dish with buttered corn bread crumbs (plenty).
  • Pour squash mixture over corn bread crumbs and top with more buttered cornbread crumbs.
  • Bake at 400° for 30 minutes.
  • Watch carefully so it doesn't get too brown.
