- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 16 oz. tomato sauce
- 6 oz. tomato paste
- 1/4 c. water
- 3 to 4 Tbsp. catsup
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 3 to 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. onion, chopped
- 1 c. celery, chopped
- 6 to 8 hamburger buns, toasted
Method
- In a large pan, brown meat; drain.
- Add all other ingredients. Simmer until mixture reaches desired consistency, about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Stir occasionally.
- Spoon onto bottom halves of buns and cap with top halves of buns.
- Makes 6 to 8 sandwiches.
