Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 16 oz. tomato sauce
  • 6 oz. tomato paste
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. catsup
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 c. celery, chopped
  • 6 to 8 hamburger buns, toasted

Method

  • In a large pan, brown meat; drain.
  • Add all other ingredients. Simmer until mixture reaches desired consistency, about 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Stir occasionally.
  • Spoon onto bottom halves of buns and cap with top halves of buns.
  • Makes 6 to 8 sandwiches.
