Ingredients
- 5 c. sliced fresh peaches
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. cold water
Method
- Combine the first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil.
- Cook over low heat until peaches are tender and mixture thickens.
- Pour peach mixture into a lightly buttered 10 x 6 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Set aside.
