Ingredients

  • 3 cups frozen sour cherries, thawed, drained
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1-1/2 cups thawed Cool Whip Light Whipped Topping
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon zest

Method

  • Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Place cherries in 9-inch pie plate sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Blend next 4 ingredients in blender until well blended.
  • Add flour, sugar and zest; pulse 30 sec.
  • or until well blended.
  • Pour over cherries.
  • Bake 20 min.
  • Remove from oven.
  • Heat broiler.
  • Broil, 6 inches from heat, 2 to 3 min.
  • or until top is puffed and golden brown.
  • Let stand 10 min.
  • before serving.
