Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour (sift before measuring)
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. peanut oil
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • peanut oil for frying
  • confectioners sugar

Method

  • Sift flour, baking powder and salt into medium bowl.
  • Make well in center of ingredients.
  • Add 1 tablespoon peanut oil and water; mix well with a fork to form a soft, smooth dough.
  • Divide into 4 portions.
  • Knead each part 4 or 5 times, until smooth. Form each part into a ball.
  • Flatten with palm of hand.
