Ingredients

  • 2 (16 oz.) whole or wheat frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1 egg white, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. water
  • coarse salt (if you wish)

Method

  • Thaw bread in refrigerator overnight.
  • Roll dough into 24 (1 1/2-inch) balls (12 balls from each loaf of bread).
  • Roll each ball into roll (14-inches long).
  • Place pretzels 1 inch apart on a well-greased cookie sheet.
  • Let stand 20 minutes.
  • Combine egg white and water.
  • Brush on pretzels.
  • Try making the letters of the alphabet or your name with pretzel dough.
  • Sprinkle with salt if you desire.
  • Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
  • Makes 24 pretzels.
