Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. margarine
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
  • powdered sugar

Method

  • Cream margarine and shortening with brown sugar.
  • Sift flour and salt together.
  • Add gradually to creamed mixture.
  • Add vanilla and mix well.
  • Add chopped nuts; blend and shape into 1-inch balls.
  • Bake at 325° for 25 minutes.
  • Cool slightly and roll in sugar.
  • When completely cool, roll again in sugar.
