Ingredients
- 14 oz can plum tomatoes, pureed
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled and pureed
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- 16 fresh basil leaves. chopped or 1 Tbs dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- 1. In a large saucepan, place the pureed tomatoes, garlic, red pepper flakes and the chopped basil (or dried basil if fresh is unavailable.) Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
- 2. Season the tomato sauce with salt and pepper. Continue simmering for another 5 minutes.
