Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. dark Karo syrup
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Method
- Stir flour and sugar to mix.
- Cut butter into flour and sugar with pastry blender until crumbly.
- Reserve 1 cup for topping. Add Karo to boiling water.
- Stir in baking soda and salt.
- Pour into dry mix and stir until dry ingredients are moist.
- Pour into 9-inch pie shell.
- Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top.
- Bake at 375° for 35 minutes.
