Ingredients

  • 1 head lettuce
  • 1/2 to 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 whole green pepper
  • 3/4 c. dried red onion
  • 1 pkg. frozen peas, cooked 1 minute, drained and cooled
  • 1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • shredded cheese
  • 1/2 lb. bacon, cooked, cooled and crumbled

Method

  • Shred lettuce in a 9 x 13-inch pan (or glass bowl).
  • Add the celery, green pepper, red onion and peas in layers.
  • Cover with mayonnaise, sealing edges.
  • Sprinkle sugar over top.
  • Then add shredded cheese and bacon.
  • Cover and refrigerate 8 hours.
