Ingredients
- 2 c. raisins (1 Samuel 30:12)
- 2 c. figs (Nahum 3:12)
- 2 c. almonds (Numbers 17:8)
- 3 1/2 c. flour (1 Kings 4:22)
- 1 c. butter (Judges 5:25)
- 2 c. molasses (Jeremiah 6:20)
- 2 tsp. baking powder (Amos 4:11)
- pinch of salt (Leviticus 2:13)
- 6 eggs (Jeremiah 14:11)
- 1 c. sour milk (Judges 4:19)
- 6 Tbsp. honey (1 Samuel 14:25)
- spices to taste (2 Chronicles 9:9)
Method
- Sprinkle raisins, figs and almonds with small amount of flour. Cream the butter; blend in molasses. Sift baking powder, flour and salt together twice.
- Beat eggs. Add milk and honey.
- Stir well. Add milk
- mixture and flour mixture alternately to creamed butter; mix well. Stir in spices, raisins, figs and almonds.
- Pour into cake pan. Bake for 1 hour at 325° to 350°.
- Serves 15 to 18.
