Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 sticks butter (8 oz.)
- 1 medium egg yolk
Method
- Mix together 2 1/4 cups flour with sugar; cut in butter as for pastry.
- Bind together with egg yolk.
- Knead lightly using other 1/4 cup flour as needed.
- Divide into 4 portions.
- Roll each one out to a 1/2-inch circle.
- Score edges and prick center with fork. Mark into wedges with knife going down 1/8-inch.
- Bake at 350° for approximately 30 minutes; let cool 5 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
