Ingredients

  • 4 cups SRF
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 oz butter
  • salt

Method

  • 1) Preheat oven to 230°C.
  • 2) Place flour in bowl, mix in butter with fingers (butter should be room temp),
  • 3) Add salt (generous pinch), add milk slowly, mixing in with knife, place on bench (flour on bench first), lightly fold the dough (about 3-4 times only),
  • 4) Lightly flatten/ spread dough and cut into round moulds, lightly push scones next to one another on tray (flightly floured),
  • 5) Bake for about 10 minutes, You may need to take the ones on outside first and let middle ones cook longer. If go brown quickly, turn oven down to 190 for rest of cooking time.
