Ingredients
- 5 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 3/4 c. shredded cheese
- 1/2 c. chopped onions
- salt and pepper
- dash of sugar
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- To make sauce, cook onions in butter until tender.
- Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
- Add milk and cook until thickened and bubbly.
- Layer 1/2 potatoes and pour half sauce over and repeat layers and remainder of sauce.
- Place in a greased casserole dish.
- Bake, covered, 45 minutes, stirring once. Uncover and bake 30 minutes or until potatoes are cooked.
