Ingredients

  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. sliced carrots
  • 1/2 c. diced celery
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 c. cubed ham

Method

  • Combine water, vegetables and seasoning.
  • Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  • Do not drain.
  • Make white sauce of flour, butter and milk.
  • Add Cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
  • Add ham and undrained vegetables.
  • Heat, but do not boil.
