Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. corn oil margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. pure almond extract
  • 5 c. flour
  • 1 c. chopped almonds (optional)

Method

  • Beat butter, margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in egg, salt and flavoring.
  • Blend in flour.
  • Form into balls the size of a walnut.
  • Place on ungreased baking sheet.
  • Press flat with fork dipped in cold water. Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 10 to 12 minutes until light golden brown around edges.
  • Cool on rack. Store in airtight container in freezer.
