Ingredients
- 1 c. butter
- 1 c. corn oil margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. pure almond extract
- 5 c. flour
- 1 c. chopped almonds (optional)
Method
- Beat butter, margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg, salt and flavoring.
- Blend in flour.
- Form into balls the size of a walnut.
- Place on ungreased baking sheet.
- Press flat with fork dipped in cold water. Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 10 to 12 minutes until light golden brown around edges.
- Cool on rack. Store in airtight container in freezer.
