Ingredients

  • 1 c. soy sauce
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. ground ginger
  • 12 to 13 slices bacon
  • 1/2 lb. chicken livers
  • 1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and halved

Method

  • Mix soy sauce, brown sugar and ginger in square baking dish, 8 x 8-inch.
  • Cut bacon slices and chicken livers into halves.
  • Wrap a piece of chicken liver and a water chestnut in each bacon piece. Secure with toothpick.
  • Place in marinade.
  • Refrigerate, covered, 2 hours and drain.
  • Place rumaki on double layer of paper towels. Microwave at High 5 minutes.
  • Reduce power to Medium.
  • Microwave until bacon is brown, 12 to 18 minutes.
  • Rotate every 3 to 5 minutes.
