Ingredients

  • steak (sirloin or any type)
  • water chestnuts
  • bacon
  • soy sauce

Method

  • Cut your steak into bite size pieces (the steak does not have to be an expensive cut).
  • Take your water chestnuts (sliced) and drain them.
  • Cut bacon into thirds or halves (enough to wrap around steak).
  • Wrap bacon around steak and a slice of water chestnut. Secure with a toothpick.
  • Place in a bowl and pour soy sauce over steak.
  • Cover and marinate overnight.
  • (I prefer low sodium soy sauce; it makes the appetizer less salty.)
  • Cook in broiler pan at 350° for 15 minutes.
  • Serve alone or with sweet and sour sauce.
