Ingredients

  • 1 box (16 Oz. Box) Whole Wheat Rotini Pasta
  • 2 heads Broccoli
  • 1 package (16 Oz. Package) Smoked Kielbasa Sausage
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 3 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
  • 1 cup Romano Cheese

Method

  • Fill a large pot with water and bring to boil for the pasta.
  • While its heating up, cut the sausage into slices, then in halves.
  • This helps stretch the sausage.
  • Cut two heads of broccoli.
  • Place some water in the bottom of a skillet to steam your broccoli.
  • Place the lid on top and cook to your desired tenderness.
  • (Not too soft or it falls apart in the pasta.)
  • Your water should be boiling.
  • Dump the box of pasta into the water.
  • Cook according to package directions.
  • Once the broccoli is cooked, place in a bowl and add your cut sausage to the skillet.
  • Usually, these come pre-cooked, so youre just browning these pieces.
  • Five minutes should do it.
  • Once pasta is cooked, drain and return to the pot.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and add the broccoli and sausage.
  • Add garlic salt and Italian seasoning to taste.
  • Toss gently and make sure its nicely coated with olive oil and seasoning.
  • Once youre satisfied with the taste, add a good handful (or two) of the Romano cheese.
  • Serve with nice crusty bread.
