- 15 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup root beer
- 3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely minced
- 1 garlic clove, finely minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Method
- Mix all ingredients into small saucepan.
- Bring to boil & then reduce to a simmer. Cook until thickened approx 15-20 minutes.
- Use immediately or store in refrigerator tightly sealed after chilling.
