Ingredients
- 3/4 c. hot water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 beaten egg
- 5 1/4 c. unsifted flour
Method
- Mix hot water, sugar, salt and butter together.
- Cool to lukewarm.
- Pour warm water in large bowl.
- Sprinkle in yeast. Stir until dissolved.
- Stir in lukewarm water mixture, egg and 1/2 flour.
- Beat with mixer until smooth.
- Stir in by hand the remaining dough to make soft dough.
- Turn out on lightly floured surface and knead until smooth.
