Ingredients
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 3/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. nuts
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
Method
- Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and beat well.
- Add vanilla and nuts.
- Add sifted dry ingredients; mix well and shape into rolls, 1 1/2-inches in diameter.
- Roll in waxed paper.
- Chill several hours or overnight.
- Slice thin.
- Bake on greased cookie sheet in hot oven (425°) until light brown.
