Ingredients

  • 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 3 c. sifted confectioners sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. hot light cream or evaporated milk, undiluted
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract or 1/2 tsp. rum extract

Method

  • Melt chocolate over hot water.
  • Remove from heat; let cool.
  • In medium bowl, combine butter, sugar, salt and 3 tablespoons hot cream.
  • With wooden spoon, beat until mixture is smooth.
  • Add chocolate; continue beating until frosting is thick enough to spread.
  • Add vanilla.
