Ingredients
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1 egg
- 1/3 c. milk
- powdered sugar
Method
- Combine flour, sugar and nutmeg.
- Cut in butter.
- In a measuring cup, beat egg; add milk to measure 2/3 cup.
- Add to flour mixture and stir until blended.
- Turn out on a floured board and knead just until smooth.
- Roll and cut with a donut cutter. Fry in deep fat.
- Drain and dust thickly with powdered sugar.
