Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 oz/250 g) cream cheese, cut into small cubes and softened
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) milk or sour cream (approx.)
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) freshly ground black pepper
  • 6 oz (175 g) smoked salmon, mackerel, trout or other smoked fish (skinned)
  • 4 red radishes, chopped
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) minced red onion
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) freshly squeezed lemon juice (or to taste)
  • 1 can (1 3/4 oz/50 g) anchovies, drained
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) capers, drained
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) crumbled blue cheese (Danish, Roquefort, Gorgonzola, etc.)
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) sour cream
  • 1 green onion, chopped Chopped walnuts, for garnish (optional)
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) curry powder or curry paste
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) liquid honey
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 onion, chopped, and 4 cloves garlic, chopped, lightly browned in 2 tbsp (25 mL) vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) chopped fresh chives
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) pitted olives
  • 1 clove garlic, smashed
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL)chopped fresh parsley or basil
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 can (6.5 oz/184 g) tuna, drained
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) chopped sweet onion
  • 1 tsp ( 5 mL) freshly squeezed lemon juice (or to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL)chopped apple or pear
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL)walnuts or pecans
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL)chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL)golden raisins
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) freshly squeezed lemon juice

Method

  • In blender, on low speed, blend cream cheese, milk, salt and pepper until smooth, adding more milk if necessary.
  • Blend with any of the following flavorings.
  • Make ahead: Cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
