Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. Brazil nuts
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans
  • 1 (7 1/4 oz.) pkg. pitted dates, cut up
  • 1 c. maraschino cherries, drained and cut in halves
  • 3/4 c. sifted flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Put nuts, dates and cherries in a large mixing bowl.
  • Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt over nuts and fruit.
  • Mix with hands until nuts and fruit are coated with flour mixture. Beat eggs until foamy.
  • Add vanilla; stir into nut and fruit mixture.
  • Turn into well-greased bread pan.
  • Spread and pack down. Bake in a 300° oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until done.
