Ingredients

  • 2 sheets bought puff pastry
  • 2 large apples
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • butter
  • sugar

Method

Preheat oven to 200C.

Using a saucer as a guide, cut 4 circles of pastry from 2 sheets bought puff pastry. With a small, sharp knife, make concentric circles 1cm in from the edge of each round (do not cut right through pastry). Crimp or pinch the border to form pleats (these will rise to form an edge). Place pastry rounds on lightly greased baking trays.

Core and cut 2 large apples into quarters. Thinly slice and place in a bowl. Sprinkle with juice of 1/2 lemon and toss gently to combine. Arrange apple slices on pastry. Dot each with 1/2 tbsp butter and sprinkle with 1 tsp sugar.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until pastry is cooked and golden. Serve with thick cream.
