Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 Tbsp. sour cream
  • 2 to 3 bananas, mashed
  • 2 c. cake flour, sifted
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. chocolate chips

Method

  • Cream butter and sugar; add beaten eggs and salt. Mix well. Dissolve baking powder and soda in the sour cream; add the first mixture.
  • Stir in banana pulp.
  • Add the flour gradually.
  • Add the vanilla and chocolate chips.
  • Pour into two greased and floured loaf pans.
  • Bake at 350° for 50 to 70 minutes.
  • Can be served warm a la mode.
  • Freezes well.
