- Pet-Ritz pie shells
- 1/2 pt. heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 pt. half and half
- 1/2 c. crisp cooked bacon
- 1/2 c. grated Swiss cheese
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1/3 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- dash of nutmeg
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Prebake pie shells until very lightly brown.
- Crumble cooked bacon in bottom of pie; layer cheese over bacon.
- Beat eggs, spices, cream, half and half and onion with mixer 2 to
- 3 minutes. Pour over bacon and cheese.
- Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes. Check closely during last 10 minutes.
- Done when inserted knife comes out clean.
- Do not overcook.
- Makes 1 pie; double recipe makes 3.
