Ingredients

  • 1 gal. ripe tomatoes (8 1/4 lb., peeled and cored)
  • 2/3 c. chopped onions
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 5 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. curry powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2 c. vinegar

Method

  • Put tomatoes and onions through a food chopper.
  • Add all ingredients.
  • Boil 2 hours or until thick, stirring frequently to keep from scorching.
  • As soon as sauce is thick as desired, pour into sterilized jars and seal.
