Ingredients

  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. pumpkin
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 1/4 c. melted butter

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Sift flour, salt, baking powder, soda, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger together three times.
  • Beat eggs until thick, adding sugar gradually as you beat.
  • Whip in the pumpkin, then melted butter.
  • Beat in the dry ingredients and mix well. Fold in the nuts.
  • Pour into 2 buttered and floured pans.
  • Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
