Ingredients

  • 23 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 13 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  • Beat butter and sugar together until light in color; add eggs and beat in one at a time.
  • Sift together flour and baking powder and stir in until completely incorporated.
  • Chill for at least 1 hour, and up to 24 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Combine remaining four ingredients in a saucepan over medium high heat and heat to just under a boil, or until sugar is completely melted.
  • Divide dough between six ramekins and fill each with the syrup liquid.
  • Place ramekins on baking sheet and bake 20-25 minutes.
  • Recipe can be doubled and baked in a 9x13 pan at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until lightly browned.
