Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. cooked prunes
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. sugar (for egg whites)

Method

  • Measure prunes whole, then remove pits and slice fine.
  • Cream butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar.
  • Add egg yolks and beat until creamy. Add milk alternately with flour sifted with salt, baking powder and soda and beat well.
  • Add prunes and flavorings.
  • Stir until well blended.
