Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. uncooked rice
  • 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped fine
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 qt. stewed tomatoes

Method

  • Mix uncooked rice with hamburger meat, salt, pepper and onion. Shape into balls the size of walnuts.
  • Brown on all sides in cooking oil.
  • Use covered pan.
  • After browning, add tomatoes, cover and cook slow for about 30 minutes or until rice is tender and meatball is almost doubled in size.
