Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 4 c. whole milk or buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/8 c. margarine
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 10 to 12 buttermilk biscuits
  • raisins (optional)
  • walnuts (optional)
  • coconut (optional)

Method

  • In a bowl, beat eggs. Add sugar, margarine, vanilla and milk or buttermilk.
  • Stir in nutmeg and cinnamon. Add raisins, nuts and coconut, if desired. Break up biscuits and blend in.
  • Pour into oven-safe casserole dish. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 1 hour or until mixture is set.
