Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. Polish sausage, sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1/2 lb. shredded cabbage
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 c. milk

Method

  • Cook flour and milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Layer alternately the potatoes, onion and cabbage in a casserole dish.
  • Add sauce, 1/3 after each 3 ingredients layered.
  • Cover with foil, plastic or glass.
  • Cook in oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350° or in microwave for 35 minutes on Medium-high.
  • If using microwave, only add 1 1/2 cups of milk to sauce to cut out any boilover.
