Ingredients

  • 1 c. warm water (110~ to 115~)
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 1/2 to 3 c. flour (plus additional for kneading, if necessary)
  • pizza sauce
  • toppings (cheese, mushrooms, pepper, pepperoni, sausage, anchovy, as desired)

Method

  • Sprinkle yeast over warm water in a bowl.
  • Set aside until foamy.
  • Place 2 1/2 to 3 cups flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • Make a well in center.
  • Pour yeast mixture and 2 tablespoons olive oil in well and mix to form a dough ball.
  • Let dough rest for 5 minutes.
  • Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface (cookie sheet or pizza pan) with floured fingers.
  • Make sure dough is smooth and elastic, knead and add additional flour, if necessary.
