Ingredients
- 4 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 3/4 c. shortening (room temperature)
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 large egg
Method
- In a large bowl, mix well with a fork, flour, sugar and salt; add shortening and mix with flour mixture until crumbly.
- In a small bowl, beat egg, water and vinegar.
- Add to flour mixture and stir until moistened.
- Divide dough into 5 portions and shape into a flat circle.
- Wrap each in waxed paper and chill 1/2 hour. Lightly flour both sides of pie patties.
- Roll out on a lightly floured surface.
- May be kept in refrigerator for 3 days.
