Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 5 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. warm milk
- 3 pkg. yeast
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
Method
- Add yeast in big bowl; add water.
- Let set 10 minutes.
- Add warm milk, sugar and salt; stir until sugar and salt are dissolved.
- Add oil, then add flour and mix until flour is taken up.
- Put on well floured board and sprinkle top with flour and let it set for 10 minutes.
- Knead until springy.
- Put in oiled bowl; oil top of dough.
- Cover and rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down dough on floured board.
- Pull off roll size bits of dough.
- Shape into rolls and put on cooking sheet.
- Oil tops of rolls and let rise 45 minutes.
- Cook in 425° oven about 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Makes about 35 rolls.
- You can half this recipe by using 2 packages of yeast and 1/3 cup water, then half everything remaining.
