Ingredients

  • 1 lb. round steak
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 cube beef bouillon
  • dash of soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 to 2 c. water
  • 2 medium bell peppers
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 jars (4 1/2 oz.) whole or chopped mushrooms (optional)
  • dash of ginger

Method

  • Sprinkle steak with tenderizer, cut in thin strips and brown in butter.
  • Add 1 to 1 1/2 cups water and bouillon cube.
  • Add soy sauce, ginger, salt and pepper to taste.
  • Simmer meat until tender (20 to 30 minutes).
  • Combine cornstarch and 1/2 cup water and add to meat.
  • Cook and stir 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add bell peppers (cut in strips), onion (cut in rings) and add drained mushrooms.
  • Simmer covered 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Serve over rice.
