Ingredients

  • 2 large cans tomatoes
  • 3 green peppers, cut up
  • 3 onions, cut up
  • 3 stalks celery, sliced
  • 2/3 c. sugar (to taste)
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 2 cans red kidney beans
  • 2 1/2 to 3 Tbsp. chili powder

Method

  • Place first 5 ingredients in large pot and bring to boil. Simmer until vegetables are tender, 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, brown hamburger and drain fat.
  • When vegetables are tender, add cooked hamburger and undrained kidney beans.
  • Simmer 10 to 15 minutes and add chili powder to taste (depends on how hot you like it).
