Ingredients

  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 pt. whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 c. light rum
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 4 pt. half and half
  • 1 c. brandy
  • 2 c. bourbon
  • freshly grated nutmeg

Method

  • Combine milk, half and half and sugar until ingredients dissolve.
  • Separate eggs and beat yolks well.
  • Using low speed on electric mixer, add brandy very, very slowly to yolks.
  • In same manner, add rum and bourbon.
  • Add milk-sugar mixture to yolk mixture.
  • Beat egg whites until they hold soft peaks.
  • Beat cream until it is firm, but not too stiff.
  • Fold cream into liquor mixture, then fold in egg whites.
  • Grate small amount nutmeg. Chill overnight.
  • Stir or shake before serving.
