Ingredients

  • 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 c. sifted enriched flour
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. soft margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. coarsely broken pecans

Method

  • Cheese Pastry:
  • Let cream cheese and margarine stick soften at room temperature.
  • Blend.
  • Stir in flour.
  • Make into a ball and wrap with Saran or wax paper to seal.
  • Chill slightly (about 1 hour).
  • Shape into two dozen balls (about 1-inch).
  • Place in 1 3/4-inch ungreased muffin tins.
  • Press dough against bottom and sides of cup.
