Ingredients
- 2 gal. green tomatoes, sliced
- 2 lg. onions, sliced
- Salt
- 1/4 pound mustard seed
- 3 to 4 teaspoon of the following: Allspice, cloves, grnd mustard, and grnd ginger 2 tbsp. black pepper
- 2 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 3/4 c. brown sugar
Method
- Place sliced tomatoes and onions in layers with salt between layers in a stainless steel kettle.
- Let stand 24 hrs, then drain.
- Add in rest of ingredients and cover with vinegar and boil for 2 hrs.
- Strain through a sieve or possibly put in blender.
- Bottle for use.
