Ingredients

  • 4 cups pear sliced
  • 1 pie crust for bottom; strips for top
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Method

  • Spread softened butter over bottom of crust and sides of crust to prevent sogginess.
  • Fill in with pears; sprinkling rest of mixture as you layer.
  • Dot with 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees, then 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees.
