Ingredients
- 10 lb. pears (after peeling and slicing)
- 8 lb. sugar
- 1 1/2 oz. ginger root (whole)
- 3 lemons
- 3 oranges
- 1 1/2 pt. water
Method
- Grind oranges and lemons, using all except seeds.
- Dissolve sugar in water.
- Add all ingredients; cook until pears are clear and syrup thickens.
- Seal in jars while hot.
- Delicious on ice cream.
- Yields 10 pints.
